S.B. 3105 Summary

• Establishes the Lipoa Point Management Special Fund under Chapter 171, Hawaii Revised Statutes, to support management and preservation of the Lipoa Point area.

• Fund receives deposits from legislative appropriations, grants, donations, gifts, and interest earned on fund moneys.

• Moneys in the fund shall be used for operations and maintenance costs of Lipoa Point and to educate visitors about stewardship activities funded by the special fund.

• Appropriates $100,000 from general revenues for fiscal year 2018-2019 to be deposited into the special fund, with the same amount appropriated from the fund for management and educational purposes.

• Department of Land and Natural Resources must submit annual reports to the legislature no later than twenty days before each regular session detailing fund balance, expenses, and purposes of each expenditure.
