S.B. 351 Summary

• Requires the Department of Land and Natural Resources to include aha moku advisory committee expenses in its annual budget and provide administrative support to the committee.

• Authorizes the aha moku advisory committee to hire an executive director and administrative/executive assistant, both exempt from civil service requirements.

• Allows the special land and development fund to be used for any expenses incurred by the aha moku advisory committee in fulfilling its duties.

• Appropriates funds for fiscal years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 for aha moku advisory committee expenses, with a portion to be divided proportionately among the eight island representatives and allocated to the annual Puwalu event.

• Takes effect on July 1, 2058.
