Prohibits employers from retaliating against or discriminating against employees who disclose their own wages, discuss wages with coworkers, or inquire about other employees' wages.

Prevents employers from prohibiting employees from discussing wages in the workplace.

Protects employees who aid or encourage other employees to exercise wage discussion rights under this section.

Effective date is July 1, 2017.

Addresses Hawaii's gender wage gap, which stood at 14.2 cents on the dollar in 2014, with disparities being worse for women of color.
