• Urges the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism to amend its mission statement to expressly include development of a business friendly culture in Hawaii.

• Current departmental mission statement reads: "to support the development of a Hawaii economy that embraces innovation; an economy that is globally competitive, dynamic, and productive; and provides opportunities for all Hawaii's citizens."

• Proposes revised mission statement to read: "The Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism's mission is to support the development of a Hawaii economy that is business friendly, embraces innovation; an economy that is globally competitive, dynamic, and productive; and provides opportunities for all Hawaii's citizens."

• Directs transmission of certified copies to the Governor and Director of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism.
