Request for the State Auditor to conduct a sunrise analysis of virtual currency business activity regulation as set forth in S.B. No. 2129 and part I of H.B. No. 2257 H.D. 1.

Virtual currency business activity includes services for exchange, transfer, and custody of virtual currencies by customer-facing intermediaries.

Sunrise analysis required by Hawaii Revised Statutes section 26H-6 for new regulatory measures that would subject unregulated professions to licensing or regulatory controls.

Auditor must submit report with findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation no later than twenty days before the Regular Session of 2019 convenes.

Certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Auditor and the Director of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.
