Chief Information Officer is requested to develop state strategic open data goals and objectives in conjunction with the Information Technology Steering Committee.

Chief Information Officer must consider model legislation from other states and best practices while working with all Executive branch departments and agencies to develop open data strategies for inclusion in their multi-year information technology plans.

Chief Information Officer and Information Technology Steering Committee must consult with the Office of Information Practices and other departments with relevant data expertise during development of the strategic open data goals and objectives.

Chief Information Officer must submit the state strategic open data goals and objectives, along with recommendations and any proposed legislation, to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the convening of the 2020 Regular Session.

Certified copies of the resolution must be transmitted to the Governor, Comptroller, Chief Information Officer, and Director of the Office of Information Practices.
