S.C.R. No. 42 Summary

• Requests the Information Technology Steering Committee to develop a State Information Technology Strategic Plan that includes data goals and objectives.

• Directs the Committee to consider model legislation from other states and best practices when establishing a data strategy for inclusion in the plan.

• Requires the Committee to consult with the Department of Accounting and General Services, Office of Enterprise Technology Services, Office of Information Practices, and other relevant departments during plan development.

• Mandates the Committee submit the completed State Information Technology Strategic Plan with data goals, objectives, and recommendations (including proposed legislation) to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the Regular Session of 2019 convenes.

• Requires certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Governor, Comptroller, Chief Information Officer, and Director of the Office of Information Practices.
