SR20 Summary

• Request that the Chief Information Officer, in conjunction with the Information Technology Steering Committee, develop state strategic open data goals and objectives.

• Direct the Chief Information Officer to consider model legislation from other states and best practices, working with all Executive branch departments and agencies to adopt open data strategies in their multi-year information technology plans.

• Require the Chief Information Officer to consult with the Office of Information Practices and other relevant departments during development of the state strategic open data goals and objectives.

• Mandate submission of the state strategic open data goals, objectives, and recommendations (including any proposed legislation) to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the Regular Session of 2020 convenes.
