• Department of Education requested to convene a working group by July 1, 2018 to review afterschool programs in Hawaii's public schools.

• Working group to conduct comprehensive review including inventory of existing programs, funding analysis, quality improvements, inter-agency collaboration, data management systems, and professional development recommendations.

• Department of Education to establish an Afterschool Program Advisory Council within the Community Engagement Office to support the working group's findings and recommendations.

• Working group membership to include superintendent (chair), representatives from Lieutenant Governor's office, Human Services, Health, school principals, police, afterschool providers, Hawaii Afterschool Alliance, Chamber of Commerce, and educational organizations.

• Department of Education to submit working group findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the legislature no later than twenty days before the 2019 Regular Session.
