H.B. 1028 Summary

• Expands revenue sources for the Endangered Species Trust Fund administered by the Department of Land and Natural Resources to support implementation of Hawaii Revised Statutes chapter 195D.

• Removes the restriction limiting fees and assessments to only "commercial" use of public land and waters, allowing fees from any use of public land and waters designated for the fund.

• Authorizes the fund to receive moneys from: retail item sales, private contributions, fees and assessments from public land and water use, enforcement penalties and fines, legislative appropriations, and habitat conservation plan deposits and technical assistance fees.

• Takes effect upon approval.
