HB1132 Summary

• Requires boards exercising legislative functions to include in meeting agendas a statement on the topic and general description of subjects involved, plus reasonably foreseeable effects of the item.

• Mandates boards to provide public notice of substantive changes to agenda items at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled meeting when exercising legislative functions.

• Extends the time limit to file a lawsuit to void final board actions that violate sunshine laws from 90 days to 180 days.

• Takes effect July 1, 2019.
