Extends Hawaii's family leave law to include care for grandchildren with serious health conditions, providing one week of leave per calendar year for this purpose.

Maintains the existing four weeks of family leave for birth, adoption, or care of child, spouse, reciprocal beneficiary, sibling, or parent with serious health condition.

Allows one week of grandchild care leave to be taken intermittently and permits employees to substitute accrued paid leave (vacation, personal, or family leave) for unpaid leave.

Limits use of sick leave for grandchild care to seven days per year unless a collective bargaining agreement authorizes more, compared to ten days per year for other family leave purposes.

Takes effect July 1, 2050.
