H.B. 1424 Summary

• Establishes a visitor information center in the state capitol to inform and educate visitors about the historic and cultural aspects of the capitol and its grounds and facilities.

• Adds this new visitor information center requirement as a fifth duty of the state capitol management committee under Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 6E-34.5(f).

• Appropriates general revenues for fiscal years 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 to the department of accounting and general services for implementation purposes (specific amounts left blank in bill).

• Takes effect on July 1, 2022.
