Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 431:3A-202 to create an exemption from the requirement that insurers send annual privacy notices to all customers in certain circumstances.

Exempts insurers from sending annual privacy notices if they have provided nonpublic personal financial information to nonaffiliated third parties under sections 431:3A-401, 431:3A-402, or 431:3A-403 and have not changed their disclosure policies and practices since the most recent notice.

Maintains the existing requirement that insurers must provide annual privacy notices to former customers and define the twelve-consecutive-month period on a consistent basis.

Takes effect on July 1, 2019.
