H.B. 299 Summary

• Amends section 42F-103 of Hawaii Revised Statutes to add a new requirement that organizations receiving grants must publicly recognize that projects were supported by the State through an awarded grant.

• Maintains existing grant award standards requiring recipients to be licensed/accredited, comply with non-discrimination laws, prohibit use of funds for entertainment or lobbying, and allow full access to records for monitoring and audits.

• Applies the public recognition requirement to all grant-receiving organizations, including nonprofits, for-profits, and individuals conducting state-funded activities or services.

• Takes effect on July 1, 2019.
