Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 386-79 to require independent medical examiners and permanent impairment rating examiners to conduct examinations within a specified number of calendar days of receiving notice of selection or appointment (specific number of days not filled in the bill text).

Requires that employees receive a copy of the independent medical examination or permanent impairment rating examination report no later than a specified number of calendar days after the examination date (specific number of days not filled in the bill text).

Permits employees to record medical examinations using a recording device paid for by the employee, subject to approval by the examining physician or surgeon.

Amends Act 172, Session Laws of Hawaii 2017 by removing the June 30, 2019 sunset provision that would have repealed modifications to Section 386-79.

Effective date: January 1, 2050.
