Amends Act 172, Session Laws of Hawaii 2017 to make its provisions permanent by removing a sunset provision that would have repealed the act on June 30, 2019

Grants employees the right to have a chaperone present during medical examinations related to workers' compensation work injuries

Allows employees to record medical examinations with the approval of the examining physician or surgeon

Provides that if an employee or their chaperone obstructs a medical examination, the employee's workers' compensation benefits shall be suspended until the obstruction ceases

Takes effect on June 29, 2019
