Requires health insurance policies issued on or after January 1, 2021 to cover 3-D mammography imaging (breast tomosynthesis) for breast cancer patients every three months or as recommended by the patient's physician.

Applies to all health insurance plans except those providing only specified disease coverage or limited benefits, including plans subject to chapter 431, article 10A, part II and chapter 432, article 1.

Defines "3-D mammography imaging" as breast tomosynthesis, a radiologic procedure that produces cross-sectional digital three-dimensional images of the breast.

Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes § 431:10A-116 by adding coverage requirements and creates new § 432:1 to establish 3-D imaging coverage standards for health maintenance organizations and other insurers.

Takes effect January 1, 2020.
