Requires firearm owners to report the loss, theft, or destruction of any firearm within 24 hours to both their county police department and the police department where the loss or theft occurred.

Reports must include the firearm's caliber, make, model, manufacturer, serial number, any distinguishing marks, and other information required by the county police department.

County police departments must enter reported information into the National Crime Information Center database.

First offense for failing to report is a petty misdemeanor; second offense is a misdemeanor; third and subsequent offenses require surrender of all firearms and ammunition and permanent prohibition from firearm ownership.

False reporting of a lost, stolen, or destroyed firearm is subject to the same penalties as failure to report; exempts reporting failures due to acts of God, law enforcement inability to receive reports, or incapacitation of the person required to report.
