• Adds a new provision making it unlawful to knowingly make a false statement in written, printed, electronic, or oral form to a state investigator or county inspector during an investigation into compliance with state laws, rules, or regulations or county ordinances, rules, or regulations.

• Defines "state investigator" as a person employed, contracted, or appointed by the State or a state department or agency to evaluate or investigate compliance with state laws, rules, or regulations.

• Defines "county inspector" as a person employed, contracted, or appointed by a county or county department or agency to evaluate or investigate compliance with county ordinances, rules, or regulations.

• Takes effect upon approval; does not affect rights, duties, or proceedings that began before the effective date.
