Request the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism (DBEDT) and county planning departments to collect information from apartment owner associations and condominium owner associations regarding units rented as transient accommodations.

Require associations of apartment owners and condominium owners to collect and report information about units in their buildings being rented as transient accommodations and make reports available to all association members and unit owners.

Direct DBEDT to submit reports to the Legislature regarding apartment and condominium units being leased or rented as transient accommodations.

Address the estimated 23,000 vacation rentals statewide and 8,000-10,000 on Oahu, with only 816 on Oahu having legal permission to operate outside resort areas.

Transmit certified copies to the Director of DBEDT, Chair of the Real Estate Commission, and directors of each county planning department.
