Request the Hawaii Developmental Disabilities Council to convene a working group coordinating services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

Working group to coordinate services across six state entities: Developmental Disabilities Division (Department of Health), Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (Department of Human Services), Med-QUEST Division (Department of Human Services), Disability Compensation Division (Department of Labor and Industrial Relations), Workforce Development Division (Department of Labor and Industrial Relations), and Workforce Development Council.

Council to provide recommendations to impacted divisions on improving service provision and application processes, including eligibility tests, notification timelines, service plan content, budgets, appeals processes, staff training, and other consumer-responsive system improvements.

Impacted divisions and council must report to the working group with quantified data by October 1, 2020.

Working group must submit findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2021 Regular Session convenes.
