Department of Health and Department of Human Services are requested to conduct a joint study on whether state-offered dental and medical services (direct or through insurance) adequately provide basic care for residents with disabilities.

Departments must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2020 Regular Session convenes.

Legislature requests Hawaii's congressional delegation review whether Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) monetary stipends should be increased.

Resolution addresses concerns that some individuals with disabilities seek emergency room treatment due to lack of access or funding for routine dental and medical care.
