Declares April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in Hawaii

Encourages people of Hawaii to support child abuse prevention activities and services during April and throughout the year

References 2017 national data showing approximately 674,000 children suffered abuse and neglect, with 1,720 deaths, and notes nearly 4,000 suspected child abuse cases are reported in Hawaii annually

Supports the Blue Ribbon Project led by Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii in April to increase public awareness and foster conversation about child abuse and neglect

Directs certified copies be sent to the Director of Human Services, Director of Health, and Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii
