Urges the State Capitol Management Committee to rename the Hawaii State Capitol "The Daniel Kahikina Akaka Hawaii State Capitol" in honor of the late U.S. Senator Daniel K. Akaka.

Recognizes Senator Akaka's extensive career in public service including his tenure in World War II, roles in education and economic opportunity, and over three decades serving in both chambers of the United States Congress.

Acknowledges Senator Akaka's advocacy for Native Hawaiian self-determination, including his support for the Apology Resolution signed by President Clinton in 1993 and subsequent legislation seeking federal recognition of Native Hawaiians as an indigenous group.

Notes that the State Capitol Management Committee, composed of representatives from executive and legislative branches including the Governor's Chief of Staff, State Controller, Director of Public Safety, and four legislative members, has authority over the capitol's naming under Hawaii Revised Statutes section 6E-34.5.

Directs transmission of certified copies of the concurrent resolution to the Governor, President of the Senate, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Comptroller, Director of Public Safety, and Chair of the State Capitol Management Committee.
