Requests the Department of Education to submit a report on current and future usage of glyphosate and glyphosate-containing herbicides on school properties, grounds, and playgrounds by twenty days prior to the 2020 Regular Session.

Report must detail annual purchase volumes, amounts applied by Department employees, application schedules and frequency, times of day for application, and training requirements for employees handling the chemicals.

Report must include existing departmental policies and any plans to phase out glyphosate use, including phase-out timelines and information on replacement herbicides.

Resolution cites World Health Organization classification of glyphosate as probably carcinogenic to humans, California's 2017 addition of glyphosate to its carcinogen list, and a 2018 California court award of $78.5 million to a school groundskeeper with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Resolution notes that at least 61 cities and counties across 22 states have restricted or banned glyphosate on public lands and references Hawaii Act 45 (2018) which prohibits restricted use pesticides on school property during normal school hours.
