Recognizes and commends community organizations on the Event Planning Committee for Mental Health Awareness Day 2019: Mental Health Matters in Hawaii for their work raising awareness and promoting mental health in Hawaii.

Acknowledges that mental illness affects 19% of adults, 46% of teenagers, and 13% of children annually, with approximately 44 million American adults experiencing serious mental health conditions each year.

Notes that only half of those affected by mental illness receive or seek treatment due to stigma and discrimination, largely attributed to lack of education and misinformation.

Highlights the contributions of five community organizations: Sutter Health Kahi Mohala, the 'Ohana Community Care Services Program, Mental Health America of Hawaii, National Alliance on Mental Illness Hawaii, Hawaii Health and Harm Reduction Center, and Parents and Children Together.

Mental Health Awareness Day 2019: Mental Health Matters in Hawaii event was scheduled for Thursday, February 14, 2019, at the Hawaii State Capitol.
