Requests that every office building, school, hospital, shopping center, and other commercial or public building located on Department of Hawaiian Home Lands trust land display a photograph of Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole and a description of his achievements.

Recognizes Prince Kuhio's role in spearheading passage of the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act to provide housing and communities for Native Hawaiians through a government-sponsored homesteading program.

Notes that the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act was enacted in 1921, setting aside approximately 200,000 acres of land to establish a permanent homeland for Native Hawaiians.

Acknowledges Prince Kuhio's legacy with 10,000 current beneficiary lessees living on Hawaiian homestead land and 40,000 others on the waiting list.

Directs that a certified copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Hawaiian Homes Commission.
