S.B. 1198 Summary

• Appropriates funds for fiscal years 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 for collective bargaining cost items negotiated with the exclusive representative of bargaining unit (8), with all appropriations listed as -0- across general, special, federal, and other funds

• Appropriates funds for fiscal years 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 for salary increases and other cost adjustments authorized under chapter 89C, Hawaii Revised Statutes, for state officers and employees excluded from collective bargaining who belong to the same compensation plans as unit (8) members, with all appropriations listed as -0-

• Directs the director of finance to allot appropriated funds to appropriate state departments for expenditure in the respective fiscal years

• Requires salary increases and cost adjustments for employees whose compensation is paid from federal, special, or other funds to be paid proportionately from those respective funds

• Any funds not expended or encumbered by June 30, 2020, and June 30, 2021, shall lapse on those dates; Act takes effect January 1, 2050
