SB 1288 Summary

• Authorizes condominium boards to direct the use of electronic voting devices at association meetings regardless of whether a secret ballot is used or required.

• Requires electronic voting devices to be isolated from external networks, including the Internet, and prohibits connection to the Internet.

• Mandates boards establish reasonable procedures to ensure vote secrecy and integrity, including maintaining a printed audit trail showing the device reference number, each common interest voted, and the vote tabulated.

• Requires copies of the printed audit trail be made available to owners after meetings using the same procedures as sections 514B-154 and 514B-154.5, and procedures must be provided to owners at no charge.

• Effective July 1, 2019.
