• Requires firearm owners to report lost, stolen, or destroyed firearms to their county police department within 48 hours of discovery, including make, model, and serial number information.

• Mandates county police departments to enter firearm loss/theft/destruction information into the National Crime Information Center database.

• Establishes criminal penalties: petty misdemeanor for first offense, misdemeanor for second offense, and misdemeanor for third or subsequent offense of failure to report or false reporting.

• Persons convicted of a third or subsequent offense must have all firearm registrations revoked, surrender all firearms and ammunition within seven days, and are permanently prohibited from owning or possessing firearms.
