S.B. 748 Summary

• Amends Section 92-2.5 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes to permit two or more board members to attend state of the city, state of the county, state of the State, or state of the judiciary addresses.

• Requires that board members attending such addresses not discuss board business except during and as part of the event itself.

• Prohibits board members from making or seeking any commitment to vote on matters during attendance at these addresses.

• Clarifies that attendance at these addresses does not constitute a meeting under Hawaii's Sunshine Law (Part 92).

• Takes effect upon approval.
