Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 302A-1132 to define "private school" for purposes of compulsory education attendance requirements.

Specifies that a private school must be an educational institution teaching students in kindergarten through grade twelve and be licensed or accredited by the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools, Hawaii Council of Private Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Western Catholic Educational Association, Association of Christian Schools International, or a similarly recognized entity.

Establishes that private schools must meet or exceed the standards set by the listed accrediting entities to qualify as exempt from public school attendance requirements.

Takes effect on July 1, 2020.
