Amends Section 302A-853 of Hawaii Revised Statutes to include licensed advanced practice registered nurses with prescriptive authority as authorized health care professionals to prescribe medications for school health aides to administer to public school students.

Expands medication approval authority beyond the department of health to allow other on-campus, school-based health care providers to approve medication administration pursuant to a written agreement with the department of education.

Maintains existing requirements that medication be prescribed by a licensed physician or practitioner with prescriptive authority and that parent or guardian authorization be obtained for minor students.

Effective date of July 1, 2022.
