SB992 Summary

• Amends Section 201B-7 of Hawaii Revised Statutes to require the Hawaii Convention Center management contract be separate from the marketing contract for all uses of the facility.

• Changes the effective date for this separation requirement from January 1, 2003 to July 1, 2019.

• Maintains the Hawaii Tourism Authority's existing contractual authorities for tourism promotion, marketing, development, research, sports coordination, and convention center operations.

• Takes effect on July 1, 2030.
