S.C.R. No. 107 Summary

• Office of Information Practices is requested to evaluate the relative merits of each public appeal within four weeks of receiving it between July 1, 2019, and December 1, 2019.

• For at least ten appeals during the trial period, the Office must prepare a short preliminary inclination within six weeks of receiving the appeal.

• When providing a preliminary inclination, the Office must give the appellant a copy of the agency's response to the appeal if they do not already have one.

• Preliminary inclinations must be published on the Internet for public access, and a final enforceable decision will follow at a later time if the inclination does not resolve the appeal.

• The Office must submit a report to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2020 Regular Session convening with findings and recommendations on whether the trial process should be expanded and continued.
