Hawaii Developmental Disabilities Council is requested to convene a working group to identify strategies and agreements for better coordinating services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

Working group must include representatives from the Developmental Disabilities Division (Department of Health), Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (Department of Human Services), Med-QUEST Division, Workforce Development Division (Department of Labor and Industrial Relations), Workforce Development Council, Special Parent Information Network, Hawaii Disability Rights Center, Center on Disability Studies, parents, family members, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Working group shall provide recommendations on improving coordination including eligibility tests and procedures, notification timelines, service planning processes, budgets, appeals processes, training, and other areas contributing to consumer-responsive services.

Working group must submit a report with findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the 2021 Regular Session.

Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to relevant state department directors and administrators.
