S.C.R. NO. 154 Summary

• Requests the University of Hawaii Office of Internal Audit to conduct an audit of extramural-funded programs at University of Hawaii West Oahu, including those receiving Title III grant funding.

• Addresses discrepancies and inconsistencies found in documentation and reporting of extramural funds by the University of Hawaii West Oahu across multiple programs.

• Specifies eight programs to be included in the audit: Āaliʻi Scholars Program, ʻIke Ola, Mobile High-Touch High Tech Learning Environment Program, Kūkulu ma ke Kahua, PIKO Project, Pueo Scholars, UH Hilo and Hawaii Community College cooperative development grant, and Hoʻokahua.

• Requires audit to include travel completion reports associated with programs receiving extramural funding.

• Mandates submission of audit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2020 Regular Session.
