Industrial Relations Center was established by the University of Hawaii Board of Regents in 1948 to promote understanding of labor-management interactions, collective bargaining, mediation techniques, and public and private sector policies.

Center has trained more than 1,800 professionals through workshops on collective bargaining and grievance arbitration, and published over 150 statutory guides and bulletins on public sector bargaining laws across all 50 states.

Center maintains the most complete collection of arbitration decisions for Hawaii's private and public sector employees, as well as decisions from other United States jurisdictions.

Resolution requests the University of Hawaii Board of Regents to continue supporting and funding the Industrial Relations Center as a valuable labor-management relations resource for public and private sectors.

Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the Chair of the Board of Regents, University of Hawaii President and Interim Chancellor at Manoa, Director of the Industrial Relations Center, University Librarian, and Director of the Center for Labor Education and Research at UH West Oahu.
