Requests the state to establish an artificial intelligence advisory committee to investigate implementation, development, and regulation of artificial intelligence in Hawaii.

Committee composition includes directors from Business/Economic Development, Labor, the Adjutant General, Chief Information Officer, Hawaii Technology Development Corporation Executive Director, University of Hawaii Department Chair, a Department of Defense representative, and six AI research experts selected by legislative leadership.

Committee is directed to evaluate AI applications in other states, competitive advantages for Hawaii's economy, potential dangers of AI integration, methods to encourage AI research and development, and appropriate regulatory systems.

Committee must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2020 Regular Session convenes.

Certified copies of the resolution are to be transmitted to relevant state and federal officials including the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer.
