Urges the University of Hawaii to support the establishment of a collective bargaining unit for graduate student assistants employed by the University.

Acknowledges that graduate student assistants perform vital teaching and research functions at the University, particularly at research-intensive campuses like the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Notes that budget shortfalls have increased class sizes and workload for graduate student assistants while they receive only tuition waivers and stipends as compensation.

Recognizes that graduate student assistants are currently not authorized to organize or negotiate for fair salaries and benefits related to their employment rights.

Directs certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Chair of the Board of Regents of the University of Hawaii and the President of the University of Hawaii.
