SR79 Summary

• Request that the Office of Information Practices include a tabulated report in the executive summary of its annual report detailing complaints regarding agency denials of access to information and records under Hawaii Revised Statutes section 92F-42(1).

• Require the tabulated report to identify all resolved and unresolved complaints with summaries of facts and nature of each complaint for both information access denials and open meeting compliance issues under section 92F-42(18).

• Direct the Office to provide updated information in successive annual reports on newly resolved complaints, including references to their prior appearances and the basis of resolution for each complaint.

• Include reporting on the number of complaints not resolved by opinion or informal decision in the annual report executive summary.

• Transmit a certified copy of the resolution to the Director of the Office of Information Practices.
