Urges the Department of Health and Hawaii Restaurant Association to collaborate in informing all food establishments, particularly smaller establishments like food trucks, about updated food safety rules and industry standards.

References the Department of Health's updated Food Safety Code adopted on September 1, 2017, which incorporated the 2013 Food and Drug Administration Model Food Code.

Addresses concerns about cross-contamination of food caused by employees handling food without proper hygiene practices, such as failing to wear gloves or wash hands between serving food, handling finances, and cleaning.

Requires the Department of Health and Hawaii Restaurant Association to collaborate on identifying any needed amendments to existing rules and submit findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2020 Regular Session convenes.

Directs certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Director of Health and Executive Director of the Hawaii Restaurant Association.
