Hawaii Developmental Disabilities Council is requested to convene a working group to identify strategies and agreements to better coordinate services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

Working group must include representatives from the Developmental Disabilities Division (DOH), Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DHS), Med-QUEST Division (DHS), Workforce Development Division (DLIR), Workforce Development Council, Special Parent Information Network, Hawaii Disability Rights Center, Center on Disability Studies, plus parents and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Working group must provide recommendations on improving coordination and service provision, including eligibility tests and procedures, notification timelines, service planning processes, budgets, appeals processes, and staff training.

Working group must submit a report with findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2021 Regular Session convenes.

Certified copies of the resolution must be transmitted to the Directors of Health and Human Services, administrators of relevant divisions, and executive directors of related organizations.
