HB 1005 Summary

• Exempts the spouse and child abuse special fund from the central service assessment under section 36-27 and administrative expense assessment under section 36-30, Hawaii Revised Statutes

• Allows the spouse and child abuse special fund to receive and retain federal Title IV-E reimbursements from the Social Security Act received in the fiscal year following the year in which Title IV-E funds were expended

• Replaces the term "account" with "fund" throughout section 346-7.5 and removes "department of human services" from the fund's title

• Establishes a $5,000,000 threshold for the fund, with any unencumbered and unexpended moneys in excess of this amount lapsing to the general fund

• Takes effect upon approval on June 30, 2019
