HB 1006 Summary

• Amends Section 350-2(f) of Hawaii Revised Statutes to clarify that child abuse and neglect reports apply to exempt child care facilities operating under exclusions or exemptions per Section 346-152

• Authorizes the Department of Human Services to disclose confirmed child abuse or neglect reports to parents or guardians of children enrolled at exempt child care facilities, upon receipt of proper consent

• Corrects an error in Act 176, Session Laws of Hawaii 2018 by expanding the scope of disclosure requirements to include exempt child care facilities, not just licensed or registered facilities

• Takes effect upon approval on July 1, 2019
