H.B. 1468 Summary

• Appropriates general revenue funds to the Department of Health for the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center to continue operating its school-based health center at Nanakuli High and Intermediate School for fiscal years 2019-2020 and 2020-2021.

• Funds shall support hiring of one full-time equivalent advanced practice registered nurse position and infrastructure improvements including wi-fi connectivity and purchase and maintenance of small equipment.

• Expended through a contract awarded pursuant to Chapter 103F, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

• Recognizes the health center has served the Waianae coast since 1972 and achieved a 97% immediate student return-to-class rate from nearly 7,000 student encounters since 2015.

• Takes effect July 1, 2050.
