HB 2026 Summary

• Requires the risk assessment working group to meet no less than twice each fiscal year.

• The working group provides consultation to the board of land and natural resources regarding the design and placement of warning signs, devices, or systems on improved public lands.

• Amends Section 171-8.6, Hawaii Revised Statutes to add the meeting frequency requirement.

• The working group consists of the board chairperson, each county mayor, department division administrators, the attorney general, and a person knowledgeable in warning sign design, all serving without compensation.

• Takes effect on July 1, 2020.
