HB 2206 Summary

• Amends Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 437-28(a) to add grounds for suspension, revocation, or denial of motor vehicle dealer and salesperson licenses.

• Adds new subsection (17)(F) making it a violation for a salesperson or dealer to withhold return of a buyer's downpayment or trade-in when a motor vehicle purchase or lease agreement is contingent on financing and the buyer fails to qualify for the financing.

• Renumbers existing subsection (17)(F) regarding door-to-door sales documentation to become subsection (17)(G).

• Effective upon approval.
