Extends the sunset provision in Act 38, Session Laws of Hawaii 2017, from June 30, 2022, to June 30, 2025, allowing University of Hawaii to continue technology transfer activities under ethics code exemptions.

Maintains exemptions from the state ethics code that facilitate the University of Hawaii's commercialization of intellectual property created through basic and applied research.

Supports research commercialization and economic development for the State by allowing the university to continue its technology transfer contributions beyond the original sunset date.

Takes effect on July 1, 2050.
